Student Life

Une ambiance conviviale

Experience the unique atmosphere of HEC Liège

If there's one thing that characterizes HEC Liège, it's the vibrant student life and the folklore found there. Opportunities to get involved, meet new people, learn useful skills (especially soft skills), and create lasting memories are plentiful.

The Student Association aims, on the one hand, to represent students in the School's various bodies and, above all, to organize events to which all HEC Liège students are invited, such as the Garden, the Ball and skiing.

The Comité de Baptême (Baptism Committee) is responsible for integrating students and facilitating interactions among those eager to immerse themselves in this unique experience.

The Junior Entreprises (student-run organizations) apply classroom knowledge through real-world projects with partner companies.

The Organisms of Collective Interest (OIC) organize a wide range of events throughout the academic year: from theme parties to a humanitarian trip, from sports events to evenings where drink prices fluctuate based on supply and demand, and from encounters with businesses in a Business Game format.

The OICs have been the guardians of our faculty's folklore for years. Not a week goes by without at least one event being organized by a committee at HEC Liège. The hardest part for you will be choosing!

The Folklore of the Academic Year at HEC:

The school year at HEC has always been dictated by a student-prepared agenda. The year kicks off with the much-anticipated start, followed immediately by festive integration events organized by the Assoc and the OICs. The initiation rites start in early October and last nearly until Saint Nicholas. The second term begins with a ski week (students need a week to unwind from exams) and moves directly into the period of the Saints (ending with Saint-Toré, three continuous days of celebration in Liège), and ends with the 10-day elections. The elections involve one or more aspiring Assocs competing for the title of the official Assoc and organizing incredibly impressive events. This period is, by far, the best time of the year.

Participating in the unique atmosphere at HEC doesn't necessarily mean getting involved in a committee. Indeed, one can fully enjoy the friendly environment of our faculty simply by, for example, having a drink at the Cafet' where prices are unbeatably low and where it's easy to meet many students. However, despite all these outings and events, academic success remains a priority. It's essential to maintain solid academic standing to join a student committee at HEC Liège. It's proof that it's perfectly possible to balance regular social outings with impeccable academic success!

Experiencing your studies fully through all these opportunities is surely what makes our beautiful faculty truly unique in the Cité Ardente and beyond...
